Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation

Let me start off by saying that Laura Mercier's Silk Creme Foundation is now one of my all time favourite products!  I have a huge thing about my skin, I just hate it! I have a very uneven skin tone and I get a spots and have a lot of acne scarring, so I'm constantly on the look out for a good foundation to help hide it. I gave up on drugstore foundations a while ago, aside from the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation I've never found one that I love. My other problem is the fact I'm pretty pale. High street (and a few high end brands) rarely have colours pale enough for me and they just end up looking orange and unnatural. I've tried foundations from Mac, Clinique, No 7, Maybelline, Rimmel, etc. But never found anything good enough. My skin also holds makeup terribly, primers don't help and I just find generally high end foundations stay put longer.
It was from the recommendation of beauty guru Tanya Burr that got me interested in this and I'm so happy that I checked it out! This is the perfect colour, consistency, coverage and overall the best foundation for me.
I have the palest shade which is Soft Ivory, it is my exact colour and doesn't even really need to be blended into the neckline.
The coverage of this is medium to full. This foundation is a perfect example of the term 'a little goes a long way', a pea sized amount is enough for the entire face but it is also easily buildable to get a heavier coverage.
Another thing I have noticed with this foundation is how natural it looks. I used to use MAC's Studio Fix Fluid and it always looked thick, cakey and made it so obvious that I was wearing foundation. This however, looks exactly like my skin... just better! I'd say it has a natural finish, not matte but not dewy, somewhere in the middle.
The staying power of this is very good. When I first tried it, I used a primer and it seemed to just slide off within minutes but since I've ditched that and just used a moisturiser it has been perfect!
The biggest downside to this product is the fact it is £33. I personally don't mind spending more on my foundation as I buy everything else from drugstore brands and I definitely think that its worth the money.
I've had it for about 2 months now and I think it will last me a while, I will definitely be repurchasing this when it's all gone though!

I hope you have enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments what your favourite foundations are and if you've tired this!
